Identity Design: Dubai Design District
Extant on one of the most vibrant crossroads of global culture, diversity and commerce, the Dubai Design District, or d3, is the first of its kind, a purpose-built complex spanning 15 acres designed to house and incubate both established and emerging brands and figures in fashion, design and luxury.
The Goal: As a business, retail and entertainment complex comprised of various and diverse entities, our objective was to define and promote d3 as a unique brand. Critical to this effort was creating a sense of authenticity relative to ‘traditional’ creative and artist communities, such as London’s Shoreditch or New York City’s Lower East Side.
We developed a unique approach integrating visual design, brand and digital strategy, way finding and event marketing around a core visual and verbal brand aesthetic. The result was a powerfully simple, yet evocative brand that stood apart from the commercially driven initiatives saturating the Dubai skyline.
